Lynne Livney, 49, of Kibbutz Hanita, was born in England, and later settled in Canada becoming a Canadian citizen. It was there that she met her future husband, Tuvia Livney, while he was traveling. In 1980 she came to Israel to marry him. Friends commented that Lynne was a very happy person, very well-liked and respected. On the morning of March 12, 2002, daughter Atara, 15 student at the Kibbutz Gesher Haziv High School, asked her mother for a ride to visit a friend in nearby Kibbutz Metzuba. On the way terrorists ambushed vehicles traveling between Shlomi and Metzuba, both Lynne and Atara were killed by the gunfire. They were buried together at the Hanita cemetery and are survived by Tuvia and three other children.
