Tehilla Nathanson, an Israeli-American 3 year old preschooler was one of 20 persons killed in a deadly terrorist attack on August 19, 2003. A Hamas suicide bomber disguised himself as a religiously observant Orthodox Jew and detonated an 11-pound explosive packed with ball bearings on a crowded No. 2 Egged bus in central Jerusalem seriously wounded over 130 others. Many of the passengers on the double-length bus were traveling home after praying at the holy Western Wall when the blast occurred. Another 20 people were also killed in the explosion. Tehilla's mother, Chana, who immigrated from Monsey, New York, to Zichron Yaakov nine years before was wounded and a baby sister was miraculously unhurt.
