On Saturday night, Keren Shatsky went to the Yuvalim Mall in Karnei Shomron to meet friends, eat pizza, and talk. The mall, a popular gathering place for local youth, became the site of a deadly terrorist bombing that took Keren's life.
Keren was the youngest daughter of Chava and Shabtai Shatsky, who made aliyah from the United States in 1984 and settled in Ginot Shomron. She was a student at the Lehava Ulpana in Kedumim, where her mother chaired the English department. Friends and teachers described Keren as polite, intelligent, happy, and always smiling.
“She was one of the nicest people I ever met,” said her classmate Noa Roitman. “All the pictures I have in my mind of Keren are of her smiling.”
Keren was laid to rest in Karnei Shomron. She is survived by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
