Igal, a 66-year-old Israeli son of Holocaust survivors, was killed, together with his 67-year-old American-Israeli wife, Cindy, by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, 2023 while trying to hide in their safe room in their home in Kfar Aza.
He was born on Kibbutz Netzer Sereni and grew up in Ayanot as the son of Yaakov and Rachel Pelesh – -employees of the Hebrew University Agricultural School. Igal graduated from that school and was certified in the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment. He lived in the village of Kfar Aza. He was an agronomist, a renowned expert in irrigation and cotton growing. A farmer who dedicated his entire life to working the land.
The Flashes are survived by their three daughters, two sons-in-law and two granddaughters. Igal is survived by two siblings and their families..
