Dinah Horovitz was born on March 17, 1953, in Washington, DC, to Emmanuel and Bernice Wolf.
She grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, in a non-religious home but attended a Jewish school. In 1971, she moved to Israel to study at Michlalah and stayed with Leah and Rabbi Moshe Horovitz, family friends from her school years. There she met their son Elli, whom she married in 1973.
The couple settled in Kiryat Arba in 1986 and raised four children while teaching in local religious schools. On Friday night, March 7, 2003, Dinah and Rabbi Elli Horovitz were murdered at their Shabbat table by terrorists disguised as yeshiva students.
They were beloved educators and community leaders, remembered for their dedication to Torah, family, and the Jewish people. Dinah is survived by her children, her mother, and generations touched by her kindness and strength.
