Yonatan Palmer, age 1, was killed along with his father, Asher while they were driving in the Kiryat Arba area.
On September 23, 2011, Asher and Yonatan were driving on Route 60 near Kiryat Arba. The car was headed towards Jerusalem so they could visit Yonatan's mother Puah, who was a nurse at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. Driving in the opposite direction was former Palestinian Authority security officer Waal al-Arjeh and his accomplice Ali Saadeh. As they crossed paths, al-Arjeh hurled a large rock that pierced the windshield of Asher’s car, hitting him in the head and causing the car to crash on the side of the road. Asher and Yonatan died upon impact.
Both Asher and Yonatan were buried in the local cemetery in Hevron. Puah gave birth to Yonatan's sister 5 months later.
