Sara Blaustein was born in New York on April 5, 1948, and dedicated much of her life to supporting Israel, including managing the New York office of the Jerusalem Reclamation Project/Ateret Cohanim. In August 2000, she fulfilled her dream of making aliyah with her husband Norman and their daughter Atara, settling in Efrat. On May 29, 2001, while driving to Jerusalem, terrorists opened fire on their car, killing Sara and fellow passenger Esther Alwan. Her son Sam was wounded but later recovered. Sara is remembered for her devotion to Israel and her family. She is survived by her husband, four children, and extended family.
