Life Story

Meir-Zev "Mike" Nadler, son of Yehoshua-Barak and Vita, was born on October 13, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mike studied at the Hillel School in Pittsburgh, and continued in a Jewish day school when his family moved to Miami. He was an excellent student, and was a member of the Bnei Akiva religious youth movement. In 1969 he made aliyah with his family and settled in Jerusalem, where he continued his studies at the Nativ Meir Yeshiva High School and then at Lipschitz Teachers’ Seminary in Beit-Gan. He was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1974 and assigned to the armored Nahal Brigade. He completed basic training as an outstanding apprentice and was assigned, together with his good friend, to a hesder yeshiva in the Golan. On May 20, 1975, Meir Ze’ev "Mike" fell during a terrorist attack on the Golan Heights. He was buried at Har Herzl in Jerusalem, and was survived by his parents, sister and brother.
