Life Story

Son of Chaya and Avraham (Rami), born on February 8, 2000, in Yeruham. Brother to Uri, Shachar, and Neta. Itay was educated in Yeruham, studying at "Kol Yaakov" and later at "Amit - Belevav Shalem" Yeshiva. A shy young man with a quiet charm, he was kind and dedicated to others. He was both a participant and later a counselor in "Bnei Akiva" and an active member of Yeruham’s robotics teams, serving as captain and leading them to remarkable achievements. Before his enlistment, he studied at the "Keshet Yehuda" pre-military academy. In March 2020, he joined the Givati Brigade, was assigned to the "Tzabar" Battalion, and excelled as both a soldier and commander. He led a squad of recruits and later attended officer training, becoming a platoon commander beloved by his soldiers, who affectionately called him "Abba" (Father). On October 7, 2023, during the terror attack on Israel, Itay led his soldiers in battle in Kfar Aza, rescuing civilians, including a baby named Itay, with immense bravery and determination. He later continued fighting deep inside Gaza. On February 27, 2024, he fell in battle in the Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza. He was 24 years old. After his passing, he was posthumously promoted to the rank of Captain.
