Haim Bar-Natan was born on February 27, 1973 to Esther and Aryeh in Montreal, Canada. His family returned to Israel from their educational shlichut at the outset of the Yom Kippur War, in October 1973.
Haim studied at the Ziv High School in Jerusalem and was active in numerous sports. In 1991 he was drafted into the Naval Commando but was forced to leave for health reasons after a year and joined the special 'Raven' unit of the Golani Brigade.
On December 12, 1992, on the way to setting up an ambush in Lebanon, he was accidentally shot by Israeli soldiers and killed. He was buried in the Mt. Herzl Military Cemetery in Jerusalem.
