Here is a slightly expanded and refined version of Golan Paul Azani’s story, keeping all the facts accurate:
---
**Golan Paul Azani**, son of Devorah and Sasson Azani, was born on January 30, 1974, in New York. In 1990, at the age of 16, he made aliyah on his own and settled in Israel, living with his grandparents on Moshav Kadima. Golan enrolled in the “American Project” in Pardes Chana, a unique educational initiative designed to strengthen the connection between Israel and Jewish youth from around the world.
In November 1992, Golan was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and joined the Golani Brigade, one of the IDF’s most renowned combat units. He served with dedication in multiple regions, including Lebanon, Samaria, and Gaza.
On March 22, 1994, Golan was tragically killed in a car accident at the Yannai Junction in Emek Hefer while traveling home from his unit. He was 20 years old. Golan was laid to rest in the Military Cemetery in Moshav Kadima.
He is remembered as a young man of courage and commitment, who chose to make Israel his home and gave his all in service to the country.
