Gavriel Biton was born on January 21, 1966 in Beersheva to Miriam and Avraham. He grew up in Yerucham with his three brothers and sister.
After serving in the Army he was one of the founders of Kfar Darom in Gush Katif, where he moved with his wife Avigail (the daughter of Hadasa and Aryeh Lewis, former New Yorkers) who made aliyah in 1967.shortly after they were married). The couple had six young children.
On November 20, 2000 Gabi was killed when the terrorists threw a bomb at the 'children's bus' which transported students from Kfar Darom to the regional school, where he taught.
