David Kandelman, son of Barbara and Robert, was born in Chicago on October 13, 1991. He attended Ida Crown Jewish Academy in Chicago. He was described as funny, bright, a brilliant writer, physically fit and gregarious.
After graduating from high school, David made aliyah in 2010, and began a 14-month army training program at Bar Ilan University. He died on March 7, 2011 in a training accident at the end of basic training. He was laid to rest at Har Herzl and is survived by his parents and five siblings.
