David Kandelman, son of Barbara and Robert, was born in Chicago on October 13, 1991. He attended Ida Crown Jewish Academy in Chicago and was described as funny, bright, a brilliant writer, physically fit, and gregarious.
After graduating from high school, David served as a chayal boded in Israel and began a 14-month army training program at Bar Ilan University. He died on March 7, 2011, in a training accident at the end of basic training. David was laid to rest at Har Herzl and is survived by his parents and three siblings.
