Aharon David Epstein was born in 1913 to Rabbi Efraim Fishel Epstein, one of the important Rabbis of Chicago. He studied in the Chicago Rabbinical College and the University of Chicago. After a few months at the latter he decided to devote himself to the study of Torah and make aliya to Hebron where he studied at the Yeshiva Knesset Yisrael headed by his uncle Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein.
On August 24, 1929 he was killed in the Hebron Massacre at the age of 16.
