Zohar Halamish was born on March 13, 1972 on Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael to Assaf and Narkis. Zohar was raised and educated on the kibbutz. At the age of 15 he went to the US for a year with his father.
Zohar was drafted in February 1991. After a year in pilot's course, he was transferred to the Artillery Corps and eventually became a liaison officer in the security zone in South Lebanon. He was killed in action on May 18, 1993 while on patrol with a paratrooper unit in the Soujud Area. His patrol was ambushed by Hizbullah gunmen. Zohar was killed immediately. He was buried in the military section of the Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael Cemetery.
