Michael Ben-Yitzhak, formerly Isaacs, was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on April 13, 1935. He made aliyah in 1970 after completing his degree at Oxford University in England. He had worked as a stockbroker in London before aliyah. In Israel he married Rebekah and the two raised their children, Boaz and Hillel, in Jerusalem.
On Friday, July 4, 1975, Michael and his wife were out shopping when explosives concealed under an abandoned refrigerator detonated in Jerusalem’s crowded Zion Square, killing them instantly.
