Sgt. Nathanel Young bravely and determinedly fulfilled his dream of defending the State of Israel, moving to Israel and joining the IDF as a lone soldier. He was a Golani soldier in the 13th Battalion and was killed on October 7 on the Gaza border.
The 20-year-old grew up in north London, attending the JFS Jewish school in Kenton before moving to Israel after leaving school. Nathanel had been living in the Bayit Shel Benji lone-soldier house in Raanana.
Young’s parents had flown in for the holidays from London to join his four siblings, three of whom live in Israel. The family shared that Nathanel who had moved from the UK to Israel, was generous with his time, showering the family with affection during his time away from his military service.
