Noam Mayerson, son of Chaim (Harvey) and Gila, was born in Jerusalem in 1983. He attended Horev Elementary School, a Yeshiva High School in Mitzpe Ramon, and then the Hesder Yeshiva in Eilat. His love of the outdoors and education led him to guiding tiyulim for El Artzi, an organization that combined hiking tours and Torah values for high school boys.
On August 7, 2006, just a few days after being called up for reserve duty, Noam was killed in fierce fighting with Hezbollah in Bint Jbail in South Lebanon. He was buried at Har Herzl and was survived by his parents, four siblings, and his fiancé, whom he planned to wed in a little over a month.
