Daniel Ray was born on October 20, 1974 in the United States to Gerard and Sara. He made aliyah with his family in 1976 and two years later joined them on shlichut in the Gold Coast, where they stayed for four years.
Upon their return to Israel they settled in Petach Tikva where Daniel studied at the Nili Elementary School. He then completed his studies at the Agricultural High School in Pardes Channa.
In August 1992 he was drafted into the IDF and volunteered for the Paratroopers. He served in Lebanon and took part in numerous actions against the terrorists. He was killed by terrorists in Southern Lebanon (along with four other paratroopers) on July 9, 1993.
