Sgt. First Class Ben Zussman, 22, of Jerusalem, served in the Combat Engineering Corps’ 601st Battalion and was killed fighting in Gaza on December 3, 2023. Known for his love of ping pong, his passion for Beitar Jerusalem, and his deep sense of mission, Ben lived each day to the fullest. His mother called him “a dream child” and his sister Mika said he was the big brother every sister would want. Before his death, Ben wrote a letter asking his family not to grieve but to celebrate his life, sharing food, stories, and friendship. He is survived by his parents, Sarit and Tzvi, and siblings Mika and Boaz, and was laid to rest on Mount Herzl.
