Maurice Rothschild was born on May 14, 1955 in Charlotte, NC to Solomon and Ruth, who had managed to escape Nazi Germany in 1939. In 1971 the family made aliya and settled in Raanana.
Maurice studied at the American high school in Kfar Shmaryahu and began to study at Tel Aviv University. After the Yom Kippur War, even though as a new oleh he could postpone his service, Maurice volunteered for the IDF in 1974 and served in the Armored Corps, training new conscripts.
On July 8, 1976 he fell in the line of duty and was buried in the military cemetery in Raanana.
