Chief Sgt. First Class (Res.) Yona Efraim “Efi” Feldbaum OB"M, 37, of Neria in the West Bank, was a devoted husband, father of five, and reservist combat engineer in the Israel Defense Forces, serving under the Gaza Division. Born and raised in Zayit Ra’anan–Neria, he was deeply connected to his community and committed to the development of young settlements of Binyamin.
Feldbaum was killed by Hamas sniper fire in Rafah, Gaza Strip, on October 28, 2025, amid violations of the ceasefire. Known for his courage, dedication, and devotion to both family and country, he left behind his wife Shulamit and 5 children, as well as a legacy of service and leadership. He was laid to rest at Mount Herzl Military Cemetery in Jerusalem. Feldbaum’s life was marked by honor, sacrifice, and love, and his memory continues to inspire his family, community, and fellow soldiers.
