Sarah Lynn Milgrim Z"L was an American Jewish diplomat, peacebuilder, and advocate for cross-community understanding. Born and raised in Kansas, she was deeply connected to her Jewish identity and actively involved in campus Jewish life, including Hillel and Chabad. She studied environmental studies and anthropology at the University of Kansas and went on to earn a master’s degree in International Affairs from American University and a second master’s in Sustainable Development from the United Nations University for Peace.
Sarah devoted her career to public diplomacy and fostering dialogue, working in the Department of Public Diplomacy at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., and volunteering with initiatives like Tech2Peace, which bring together young Israelis and Palestinians. Colleagues and friends remembered her as compassionate, dynamic, and committed to building bridges across communities.
Tragically, Sarah and her partner, Yaron Lischinsky, were killed in an antisemitic attack outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., in May 2025. She is remembered as a devoted advocate for peace, a proud member of the Jewish community, and a bridge-builder whose legacy continues through the lives she touched.**The information on this page is part of the “Yizkor” commemoration project by the Ministry of Defense/the ‘La’ad’ website by the National Insurance Institute, in memory of the fallen.
