Life Story

Roy Wexler was born on August 3, 1953 in Wanamassa, NJ to August and Pearl. In 1963 the family made aliya and settled in Kibbutz Hazorea where Roy attended elementary school. He continued his education in Shomriya High School in Mishmar HaEmek and at Yad Lebanim in Harei Efraim. He was an active member of Hashomer Hazair and an accomplished musician who played the accordion, the clarinet and the drums. Roy was drafted into the IDF in February 1971 and served in the Armored Corps. He fought in Sinai and on the western bank of the Suez Canal during the Yom Kippur War. On April 25, 1974 he died of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
