Ron Werner was born on November 8, 1966 in Philadelphia to Margalit and Michael, who was studying in the US. The following year, in 1967, the family returned to Israel and settled in Haifa where Ron attended the Reali Haivri school. Ten years later the Werners again moved to the US for two years and Ron studied in New Jersey. He completed high school in Haifa.
In January 1985 Ron was drafted into the IDF and accepted to Pilot's course. However, for medical reason he had to leave the course and was sent to the Artillery. There he became an officer and served in a number of positions in the northern part of the country.
On October 19, 1988 Ron was killed in Lebanon and was buried in the military cemetery in Haifa.
