Nadav Kuperman, son of Yosef and Etty, was born on Jan. 29, 1954 on Kibbutz Gal-On. He was educated on the kibbutz from elementary school through high school and was known to his friends as a 'book worm.'
In November 1971 Nadav was inducted into the IDF and served in the artillery corps. He passed the officers' course with flying colors and endeared himself to his charges by being mindful of their wishes and requests. His peers and superiors respected his learning and often sought his opinions and advice.
During the Yom Kippur War, Nadav fought valiantly with his unit on the Golan Heights. On October 12,1973, he was hit by Syrian artillery fire and killed. He was buried in the Kibbutz Gal-On cemetery.
