Laor Abramov, age 20, a DJ originally from New Jersey, was murdered by Hamas terrorists at the Supernova music festival near Re’im on October 7, 2023. After moving to Israel in 2022, Laor pursued his dream of following in the footsteps of his father, David Abramov, known as DJ Darwish. In the hours after the attack began, he managed to send a few messages to his family saying he was hiding, but after several agonizing days of waiting, his family received confirmation of his death. Laor was remembered by his father as a beloved son, musician, and gentle giant, and by his mother, Michal Halev, who called him the love of her life. In the wake of his death, Michal publicly called for peace and an end to violence, saying she wanted no vengeance. Laor’s memory lives on in the hearts of his family and countless friends.
