Ira (Yitzhak) Weinstein was born on December 4, 1942 in the United States to Yisrael and Tzippora. In 1979 Yitzhak, his wife Shoshana (Susan) and his two children, Yaffe and Joseph made aliya. After first living in the Ashkelon Absorbtion Center and then Elazar in Gush Etzion, the family moved to Ma'aleh Adumim in 1983. A third child, David, was born in 1984.
Yitzhak worked as the manager of the meat department at the Kiryat Hayovel SuperSol.
On February 25, 1966 a suicide bomber blew himself up on bus no. 18, as it reached the corner of Jaffa and Sarei Yisrael streets. 26 people were killed. Yitzhak was fatally wounded and remained in a coma for 49 days in Hadassah Hospital before he finally succumbed to his injuries on April 13.
