Eliezer Shirazi was born on July 2, 1970 in Jerusalem to Zipporah and Shmuel. Eli studied in the Yad Hamorah Elementary School in Ramat Eshkol and then at Massada in Katamon and at the ORT Haneviim High School.
Eli was drafted into the IDF in July 1989 and volunteered to serve in the Golani Brigade. On January 14, 1990 he was killed while on active duty and was buried in the Military Cemetery on Har Herzl. He left behind his parents, six brothers and a sister.
His family immortalized his memory in a forest plot by the Sataf in the Jerusalem hills, where trees were planted as a number of his years and a stone monument bearing his name was established.
