David Shlomo "Shlomi" Mark was born in Jerusalem on January 28, 1990, the eldest of the 10 children of Michael "Miki" Mark ז"ל and Chavie Mark.
Shlomi grew up in Otniel and attended school there as well as the Otniel Hesder Yeshiva. He began his army service in 2010 in the Givati Brigade and reached the rank of Captain. He planned to continue serving in the IDF, but after his father was killed and his mother seriously injured in a terror attack in 2016, he left the army to give comfort and support to his mother and younger siblings.
On March 30, 2019, Shlomi died in a motorcycle accident while in route to fulfill security duties in the Prime Minister's Office. near the southern city of Kiryat Gat while he was on his way to his work at the Prime Minister’s Office. He was taken to Soroka hospital in Beersheba, where medical staff fought for his life but eventually pronounced him dead. He is survived by his wife Yisca, and 3 young children in addition to his mother, grandmother, and siblings. He is buried in the Givat Shaul Cemetery.
