Binyamin Meir Airley, age 21, a soldier in the Paratroopers Brigade’s 101st Battalion, was killed in battle against Hamas terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip on November 18, 2023, during the Swords of Iron War. Born in New York, Binyamin moved with his family to Ramat Beit Shemesh in 2006. Known for his modesty, magnetic personality, and love of nature, he grew up with a passion for Israeli history, Jewish law, hiking, breakdancing, and long-distance running. His life mission was to protect the Land of Israel so Jews could live peacefully in every part of it. He fell in battle alongside Maj. Jamal Abbas and Staff Sgt. Shachar Fridman. Binyamin is survived by his parents, Jennifer and Robert, and his siblings Sarah, Yehuda, Akiva, Yakov, and Chana. He was laid to rest on November 19 at the Mount Herzl military cemetery in Jerusalem, accompanied by a large escort of community members showing their support and respect for his family.
