Avraham Goldman, 69-years-old from Herzliya, worked as a tour guide in Jerusalem. He was murdered in a suicide attack by an ISIS terrorist on Istiklal Street in Istanbul on March 19, 2016
Avraham and his wife, Nitza, were with an Israeli group on a culinary tour of Turkey. They had just come out of a restaurant when the terrorist detonated his suicide vest. Avraham spent years living abroad and was fluent in English. According to the US State Department spokesperson he was a dual Israeli American citizen. As a tour guide, he led groups of VIPs and many foreign businessmen, who wrote him numerous letters of appreciation.
Michael Bloomberg, the former Mayor of New York City, wrote, "He loved Israel very much. All the VIPs and groups that he led valued his work and wrote him to say that they followed in his footsteps by becoming Zionists and Israeli patriots."
Avraham Goldman was laid to rest in the Holon cemetery. He is survived by his wife, their three children and eight grandchildren.
