Staff Sgt. Aviel Wiseman Z"L, was from Poriya Illit in northern Israel, was a fighter in the Nahal Reconnaissance Unit. He fell in battle in northern Gaza on January 13, 2025, during an operational mission, alongside four other soldiers.
Aviel was remembered as a devoted son, a courageous soldier, and a young man who lived with deep faith, integrity, and a strong sense of purpose. His family shared that he was proud to serve and to be part of something greater than himself.
At his funeral, attended by nearly 1,000 people from Israel’s Messianic community, Aviel’s father, Mordechai, spoke of his son’s commitment to truth, righteousness, and serving others. He shared words he had written to Aviel for his 18th birthday, encouraging him to live with integrity and confidence and to be a blessing to those around him.
Aviel’s life reflected his values of faith, responsibility, and love for his people. Though his life was tragically cut short at only 20 years old, he left behind a legacy of courage, devotion, and kindness.
