Life Story

Amar Regev, a 20-year-old dual American-Israeli citizen, was killed in battle with Hamas terrorists in Kibbutz Kissufim. He was a real hero - after he had been badly injured he shouted to his comrades not to come to rescue him as they would be targets and get shot themselves. He was born in the US and moved to Israel as a one-year old with his parents who had completed their term as emissaries. He grew up loving animals, plants and nature, and touring the country. After high school, he did a year of National Service at the Ein Gedi Field School serving as a tour guide. He enlisted in the IDF in December 2021. Just two months before he was killed, he began a squad commander's course. Regev is survived by his parents, David and Gilanit, and his siblings, Roni and Shaked. ** The information on this page is part of the 'Yizkor' commemoration project by the Ministry of Defense / the 'La'ad' website by the National Insurance Institute, in memory of the fallen.
